Although banks globally have acknowledged its many benefits, the financial sector has been relatively slow to transition from legacy infrastructure to the cloud. According to a recent joint report by WSO2 and Arizent, nearly 9-in-10 institutions are actively developing and deploying cloud native applications, but smaller institutions are still lagging behind.
The arguments for cloud migration are stronger than ever, at a time where remote working and digitalisation have ramped up in financial institutions across the globe. Not only are there strong cost-cutting advantages to cloud migration, but the shift could enable banks to focus on customer needs while enhancing competitiveness at a client-facing level.
